SWOT Analysis – My skills👨🏻‍🎨

In week three of the module, we were required to look at job roles in our chosen design speciality and map out all of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. I found a job as an editorial designer at the Financial Times in London. I couldn’t find many jobs in Birmingham that were close to me, but once I graduate, I’d like to work in a different city or even abroad as there are more opportunities.

The Financial Times is looking for an experienced editorial designer to create dynamic treatments for stories and products across the Financial Times’ digital content. The role requires a quick learner, good communication/collaboration skills, and a sharp eye for detail.

To apply for the position, you must submit a portfolio containing examples of high-quality work that corresponds to the responsibilities of the job role.

I made a list of all the skills needed to work in the editorial design industry, which is something I can work on before graduating in order to find a job. I already have some of the skills shown on the list that I have demonstrated in my work from the modules I completed over the course of my BA Graphic design.

Ihtisham Choudhry – Swot analysis – Editorial design

Here’s my swot analysis of the job role mentioned above. I bulleted my strengths , weaknesses , threats, and opportunities. I found that i need to  develop my time management skills and work more on self-projects or client work, to build a high-quality portfolio appropriate for the editorial design industry.
